Work in progress!

I have a job that requires a formal outfit. I like to dress for work, and often want to do the little extra. As my line of work is dominated by men is suites and power dressing I was thinking that I could wear ties too!

Here is my go at a tie garment. If anyone have ideas of how to make it fit, especially at the back, I would love to hear from you!

  2. ties are always made out of such wonderful rich fabrics, I have bough a few myself over the years (vintage ones from op-shops) and simply worn them as ties (I loved the 80s for that!)

I think they would look great contrasted with a very lightweight white linen or fine cotton inserts to make a shirt, perhaps some guipure lace as a foil for the paisley. Keep us posted on how it works out!

  5. Nice! I have always loved re-purposing old neckties into something new. The fabrics are often so great. I have made a scarf, I recall seeing another Etsy seller making evening gowns, and there is always the ubiquitous necktie skirt. But looking at the way you are putting it together in the back, I can see that this will be something special.
