Making progress - not socks yet.

Last Friday the Auto Knitter (a cylider sock knitting machine from 1923) arrived. So no need to ask what I have been doing this weekend! Yesterday we managed to become friends, and the scarf you can see here was the result!

Today I wanted to master the trade of knitting heels. It's difficult and you can see the progress so far.

There are lots of helpful owners on old and new knitting machines on the internet, and even some tutorial videos on YouTube. I know of no other sock knittin machine in Norway, so I appreciate helpers on the web.
I'll keep you posted on the progress!

  3. Hi Germandoll, I bought it from a man in Canada, and it has traveld all the way across the Atlantic to my home in Norway! It's cool, and tomorrow we will make a heel!

  5. Hey, it looks like your making good progress in short time!

I have some flat bed knitting machines and quite often take to swearing at them when dropping stitches. My initial progress was nowhere as good as your progress on the sock knitter. Very impressive!

  6. It's a shame it's getting warm here, or I might get a pair of RUMBLESOCKS from you!
