Over the weekend I had a few things that had to be don in the garden before the frost sets in. As it was an overcast day and quite cold I didn't look all that much forward to it.
The apple tree we had got as a gift needed to get it's roots in the ground and the place I had picked was next to an old lilac. The lilac tree had to come down as it was nearly dead. Hard work.
As I was working I suddenly realised I had company. A beautiful red robin cept flying back and forth as I sawed and dug the hold for the tree. When I had a break it came all the way up to me and nearly - just nearly - jumped onto my hand. Since it was as glad for the company as I was, I got some good photos of my friend. What looked like a hard working day in the cold autumn air turned out to be a great day in the garden.
So glad you had a friend there with you while you worked!
